Wilderness Resort – Omer, MI

When you say “camping”, for many people it brings to mind images of the woods, campfires, new and old friends, the sounds of nature, and just kicking back and relaxing. THAT is what Wilderness Resort is. It’s “camping” the way your grandparents and parents knew it.

Prior to Outdoor Adventures buying this campground in 1996, it was known as Sunshine Valley Campground. While there is plenty of sun for you to soak in, the name “Wilderness” is much more fitting. Wilderness Resort is truly a place where you can get in touch with nature.

Wilderness is a place where people came as strangers and now are happy to call each other friends and “camping family.”

It’s a place where kids beg to come for the annual Olympics so they can test their strength and get a little dirty…

And then clean up in a super fun way afterward!

There is so much fun to be had at Wilderness! Take a dip in the hot tub, go for a swim in the pool, play horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, badminton, or volleyball, participate in some of the activities planned by the energetic staff at the resort, go for a bike ride, check out the game room or the Adult Lounge, or meet up with friends at the community fire pit!

As Wilderness Resort was the second Outdoor Adventures property to open, it has definitely become the favorite for guests of all ages.
