June is National Camping Month and we’re celebrating by talking abut how “We Camp with Care.”
Outdoor Adventures partners with nonprofit organizations in Michigan to help bring special outdoor experiences to everyone regardless of ability, income, or circumstance. As sponsors, we aim to highlight these organizations, raise awareness of their missions, and provide greater support through various fundraising efforts.
BE A CARING CAMPER! In June, we are bringing you different opportunities to help out our partner organizations. Check them all out below! And BONUS! If you participate, we have special stickers that you can proudly display to show how much you care!

Camp Fish Tales provides a place for individuals with special needs to experience the outdoors, connect with peers and develop skills that enhance their quality of life. Attending camp is a memorable rite of passage for many kids and young adults. Camp Fish Tales, located in Pinconning, MI, was founded in 1989 to help ensure that those with disabilities have the same chance to experience camp in a safe, supportive, and accessible environment. Everything at the camp, from lodges to cabins to all outdoor recreation areas, is barrier-free and accessible to everyone.

Help donate items for care packages!
In the month of June, we are collecting care package items to give to Camp Fish Tales’ youth campers and counselors! Consider purchasing some items from this Amazon wish list and we’ll contribute some items above and beyond this as well. This was a huge hit last year so help us provide a little extra boost of joy again this summer!

Special Days Camps exists to provide a safe and memorable camping opportunity in a medically-supervised environment for children who have experienced cancer and their siblings, servicing the entire family. Special Days Camps is the second longest-running oncology camp in the world offering traditional camping activities, adapted to meet the special needs of their campers. Activities are intentionally designed to promote self-esteem, confidence, friendships, teamwork, and leadership. After attending Special Days, campers bring home more than just dirty laundry…they bring home unforgettable memories and long-lasting friendships. They bring home tales of tasks accomplished that before were thought of as unattainable. They come home feeling more confident in themselves and more secure with their illness. It is amazing how one week at Special Days Camps can truly make a difference in their lives!

Outdoor Driven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting our nation’s Heroes by providing them an adventure that is aimed at lessening the impact of their everyday challenges. They are focused on being a support system for those who battle PTSD by taking them out on adventures, mostly in the outdoors, such as hunting and fishing trips, rock and ice climbing, horseback riding, watersports, range days, and more. Not only do they serve military members; both active-duty and veterans, but also Gold Star Families, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and EMS First Responders.

Help us spread the word!
Help us in our efforts to promote Outdoor Driven’s mission to help our nation’s heroes. Outdoor Adventures donated a Chamber spotlight sponsorship so they can speak to their local community about their mission too.
Give Hope RV provides rest and time for families to connect that are currently fostering or have adopted. Founders, Dave and Melissa Tubergen, are a two-time adoptive family and active foster family and understand how taking time away is difficult, but so needed. They have grown closer as a family through camping and desire to help other families do the same. Give Hope RV allows families to camp free of charge whether they own an RV or not.

Support this new partnership!
This summer, we’ve donated time in our rental RVs at Grand Haven and Lake of the North to families who don’t own a camper and we’ve donated time at campsites at all of our locations for families that already own an RV. Support us in this new partnership to help foster and adoptive families get some time away together!
Thank you in advance for making an impact in our communities! To see what we’ve done to impact our communities in the past, check out our annual report or read more on our We Care page.
