The current water crisis in the city of Flint has been in the news a lot lately. It has reached the point that the President has declared a state of emergency, allowing Federal funds to be used to help the city and its residents through this tough and scary time (http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2016/01/president_obama_signs_emergenc.html).
Due to the location of Lake Shore Resort, we have been getting a lot of questions about whether or not the resort gets its water from the city of Flint. We wanted to assure you that no, Lake Shore Resort water does not come from Flint. We have a well at the resort and it is not at all affected by this water crisis. It’s also important to note that the resort is in Davison, Michigan, not Flint, and Davison does not get its water from the city of Flint either.
We test our well quarterly for bacteria and annually for nitrates. The water is safe for your use and consumption.
If you’d like to help the residents of Flint during this time, you can drop bottled water off at our corporate office (800 Washington Ave., Suite 200, in Bay City), at Lake Shore Resort in Davison, or at Saginaw Bay Resort in Standish. This article has other options for donating money to help during this time (http://www.ibtimes.com/how-help-flint-water-crisis-michigan-residents-call-donations-bottled-water-2267503).
