Every year since 1996, Outdoor Adventures has done its most exciting giveaway, a brand new model truck or $20,000. Last year, 2020, was the final year of this giveaway, and the winnings couldn’t have gone to a more deserving couple.
The Winners
Tina Pollack and her husband Karl Pollack of Royal Oak had a hard year, like many others, due to the global pandemic. Tina dealt with the loss of income, an untimely medical diagnosis and all the bills that come with it. But then she received news that would help turn her life around; she was the winner of Outdoor Adventures’ longest-standing customer giveaway.
Pollack signed up for our customer giveaway in February 2020 at the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) RV & Camping Show in Novi. Not only was this the last big show she attended before the pandemic caused mass cancellations of these events, but 2020 was also Outdoor Adventures’ 25th and final year to run this giveaway.
“I have been signing up for this giveaway for years and years,” Pollack said.
Pollack had the choice of either a brand new model truck or $20,000 cash, and she chose the cash.
“I haven’t had a paycheck since July of last year because of COVID-19, and I’ve been dealing with some medical issues,” she said, “so this money means the world to us.”
When asked about camping, and what it means to her, Tina said:
“There is a group of friends that I go camping with every year and it’s a big part of my life,” said Pollack. “I will definitely have to come and bring all my friends to Outdoor Adventures this year.”
